Coronavirus update. In the UK we are on certain restricted movements, but the postal service carries on. Luckily I am near my local Post Office, and intend to carry on posting, obviously within guidelines and in a social distancing way! Please bear in mind there may be delays, and things may take a bit longer than normal.
Liven up your book shelf with this book nook shelf insert. This is Albert Einsteins library, with of course, his own face on his chair! There are 5 LED fairy lights in the ceiling and it really glows when turned on in the dark, these bright white lights in black cage lampshades.. The lamp behind the chair has a light in, and there are lights behind the chair to highlight this area.
The cosy chair covered in an old silk tie, and so is the footstool. There is a none working electric fire, 2 piles of books on the floor, and a table with a pipe and ashtray, box of matches, a pair of reading glasses, a mug, a little pile of letters with a pencil. There is a fabulous cuckoo clock, a cat and his bed, and a tiny mouse trap! I made the chair, lamp, table, footstool and piles of books, mostly from things destined for the recycling bin!
The background is a photo quality image of a library.
The battery pack is attached at the back for ease of changing the batteries, and the switch is at the top of the book at the end of the spine.
The book is black , and measures almost 9 1/2″ tall, the book is just over 6″ deep, almost 71/4″ including battery pack, 6 1/2″ wide at the front then tapers towards the back. It uses 2 AA batteries.
Hand crafted by me, taking quite a few hours, and made from upcycled books, so please allow for minor blemishes on the outside of the book. Yes I treasure books but lots of unwanted hardback books end up in landfill as they can’t be recycled. Rest assured the pages from the books I use have been removed from the spine, and recycled.
