Brighten up your bookshelf, with this Book Nook shelf insert. made from upcycled hardback books. This Booknook diorama has led lights in it, and is made to fit on your bookshelf, but you can also use it as a bedside light, on a table in your hallway, on a shelf your desk or anywhere you can fit it!
I have made this one bigger, with more space inside than my usual ones. A cosy chair in a sitting room, with stairs leading to upstairs with a door. There is a bookcase heaped with book, and a selection of knick knacks on the top. The hidey hole under the stairs has a suitcase ( packed with old love letters?) more books, and a Chinese lucky cat ornament. The table has a chocolate cake and hot drink. There are various pictures hanging on the walls, and a stags head. I am particularly proud of the stairs I made!! PLEASE NOTE after I took all the photo’s I slight changed the things on top of the book case, these are the photo’s with the little clock now, sorry I must get round to redoing all the photo’s again!

I made the Booknook itself, the bookcase, the chair, the stairs and door, the table, pictures on walls mounted on board, bottles, lampshades, fake suitcase and radio, and all the books myself, this has taken me countless hours to complete. In fact I have made almost everything in this myself apart from the mug , the lucky cat ornament rug and the chocolate cake!
There are two light shades with a cluster of lights in each, these are bright white lights so give a nice glow, they are battery operated and take 3 AA batteries. The battery pack is located at the top of the spine, meaning you don’t have to move it to switch the light on and off. The book is blue, with black finishing.
The background is a photo quality image, the wallpaper is images of pages from books.
Approximate measurement are, almost 6” wide , 9 1/2 tall, and 7 1/4” deep including the battery pack. Hand crafted by me taking quite a few hours, and made from modern day, in great condition, upcycled hardback books, but please allow for minor blemishes on the outside of the book. Yes I treasure books, but thousands upon thousand are sent to landfill each year as they can’t be recycled, so I remove the pages from these so they can be recycled.
