Brighten up your bookshelf, with this Book Nook shelf insert. made from upcycled hardback books. This Booknook diorama has led lights in it, and is made to fit on your bookshelf, but you can also use it as a bedside light, on a table in your hallway, on a shelf your desk or anywhere you can fit it!

This is a room with a library bookcase. I made the book nook itself, the cosy chair, the bookcase, table, pictures and knick knacks, and the heaps of books myself. I try and made most of the contents myself, a lot from things that were destined for recycling.
There are mirrors that reflect everything in the room, giving it the appearance of having further rooms off to the sides. There is a cosy chair a table with hot drink and a cream cake., and some works of art that are vintage advertising and American comic books on the walls. The bookcase is heaped with books, and various little knick knacks, boxed games, a tiny suitcase, mingled in with the books. There are various little things everywhere! This has taken me days to create.
There are lights clustered into a lampshade, and a cage light in the corner, , these are warm white lights so give a nice warm glow, they are battery operated and take 2 AA batteries. The battery pack is located at the top of the spine, meaning you don’t have to move it to switch the light on and off. The book nook is black.
Approximate measurement are, 5 ¾” wide at the front, 9 1/2 tall, and 7” deep including the battery pack. Hand crafted by me taking quite a few hours, and made from modern day, in great condition, upcycled hardback books, but please allow for minor blemishes on the outside of the book. Yes I treasure books, but thousands upon thousand are sent to landfill each year as they can’t be recycled, so I remove the pages from these so they can be recycled.
